The Split Rock of Clachtoll
The Split Rock is a famous geological feature, jutting out into the sea at Clachtoll, a tiny bay in Assynt, on the Northwest coast of Sutherland, in the far north of Scotland. At some stage in the past, the slanting rock split in two, leaving the two dramatic vertical planes exposed to the wild sea.
